Victoria Herold, Former Scholarship Winner Updates and Thanks Our Lions Club

It’s great to learn about the amazing life of one of our first Scholarship Winners.

Victoria told us that, “Honduras, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, and rural Appalachia are some of the places I have been able to do medical mission work thus far. This is just the beginning. My hope is to continue providing care for those in underserved areas for the rest of my life. I want to thank the River Hills LION Club for helping me to accomplish my goals and make my dreams as a young Clover High School student come true. In 2007, I was awarded your generous scholarship. That money helped me buy books, learn some Italian during a month long mission trip to Naples, Italy, graduate Anderson University in 3 years magna cum laude with a BS in Biology, and even buy some of my medical supplies at VCOM

Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities Student of the year in 2010. My education has been a true gift! I appreciate your flexibility with how I spent the scholarship money: allowing me to continue using the money in medical school. Your support throughout the past years has been more than monetary. Every time I saw the Club’s name on a bill that helped me off-set even the smallest cost, I was filled with great joy knowing that someone else believed in me and my dreams too. You gave me encouragement. Next May, I will be graduating from medical school and hopefully entering into an Emergency Medicine Residency program.”
