Our Lions Club New Leo Club Begins

LEO Clubs, currently numbering 5700 in 140 nations, united through their motto, Learning, Experience, Opportunity, began organizing and being chartered by LIONS International in 1957. Each LEO Club, sponsored by a local Lions Club, allows local youngsters of good character to officially participate in the worldwide LIONS, WE SERVE effort to improve the human condition. The Clover Lake Wylie Leo Club, a currently forming, community based, Alpha Leo Club, open to 12 -18 year old youngsters attending Clover Schools and/or living within Clover School District, is being sponsored by the River Hills LIONS Club as another means to support local youth by giving them a unique global identify and opening to them the benefits of membership in the largest international organization dedicated to service.

River Hills Lions Morgan Lombardo, JP Russell, Dona Van Leer, Frank Van Leer and Virginia Young serve as advisors. Official Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month in Room 224, Lion Morgan Lombardo’s classroom, at Clover Middle School. Planning meetings, supervised by Lion JP Russell, are held monthly at Clover High School.

Several of the new Leos helped out at our Pancake Breakfast event.
