Lions Walking Together Make an Impact

We did it again!  Thanks to the following SC Lions Clubs: Fort Mill, River Hills, Rock Hill and Tega Cay and the following NC Lions Clubs: Providence and South Park we had a successful 2010 campaign.  Although the final figures are not in, up to this point, we have raised over $9,500 for diabetes research, which brings our total raised since we started this project to over $210,000.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is making great strides.  This year they are partnering with Johnson & Johnson’s Animas to develop a first-generation artificial pancreas system.  This technology will help lower the risk of low blood sugar emergencies while sleeping and at the same time, improve diabetes control.

Thanks to the great teamwork among our North and South Carolina Lions Clubs, we are getting closer to a cure!
