On December 9, Bill Martin was presented with the Unsung Hero award by the River Hills Lions Club. This award is given to an individual who lives in our community and whose volunteer efforts have made a difference in our lives and in our community. Bill has helped to make the Clover Area Assistance Center the success it is today. He has served twice as their President, has been on the Board of Directors, served as Treasurer, and has participated in the weekly Second Harvest food run.

Bill is very active in the All Saints Catholic Church as an usher, chairing the All Saints yearly Golf Tournament and is an active member of the church’s Men’s Club and Monday Morning Church Group.

As a Lion, Bill has served on many of the River Hills Lions projects such as the Lions Golf Tournament, Christmas Trees sales and the River Hills Lions Community Foundation. He is on the Executive Committee of the Directory and is in charge of the River Hills Lions Directory Census and delivery of the directories.

Bill and his wife Lucy are long time residents of River Hills. Bill is an avid golfer and when not working on community projects, you will find him on the golf course.

Congratulations Bill – you are a true inspiration to all of us.
